Afternoon Tea with Harley and Ameer
“Wow! What a great day this was. The children were fantastic and so polite. They did a superb job.”
– Leesa Mellon
Two of our pupils have been taking part in ‘Beyond the Classroom Community Learning Project’ this half term. It started with the boys visiting a vintage tearoom, which they travelled to by bus. What an experience this was for them. They loved every minute of it. Of course we did too.
With the excitement still buzzing in the children’s ears, they wanted to showcase their learning back at school so they opened their own tearoom for staff. They planned the menu, went shopping at Tesco, used their communication skills to greet the customers and take orders. After serving afternoon tea, they took payment and worked out change. The day was a huge success and a new project is in the pipe line for the New Year.
The learning the children took from this was incredible. Still now the children are talking about it. We are very proud of them.
“Thank you for inviting me it was lovely to meet the boys.”
